Troy Kirschman, NCARB, AIA

Troy Kirschman, NCARB, AIA

Owner/Architect

A graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Troy brings over 25 years of architectural experience to the architectural and development industries. His knowledge of site development and building design have proven invaluable in helping clients realize their vision, work through the local municipal approval process and develop documentation and support necessary for construction.

Troy has a passion for architecture and the built environment. Your vision becomes his vision. With his strong leadership skills and a proven track record, he and his team will make every effort to make your next project successful.

Phil Walz, AIA, NCARB

Phil Walz, AIA, NCARB

Architect

Philip Walz  joined Hover Architecture in 2017. He started his career as a graduate of Texas A&M University and gained his first architectural license in 2002. With NCARB certification, he is currently licensed in a number of states, and has completed projects in many more states. He has worked on projects ranging from multi-million dollar airports, K-12 schools, government projects, office buildings, industrial complexes, to a variety of commercial and residential projects. He is a technical architect and is happy digging into the details and the individual specifics of projects.

He has lived in Colorado since 2007 with his wife,4 sons and a small arc of animals. He spends much of his time leading Boy Scouts on many Colorado Adventures, loves cooking indoors and out and tackling DIY projects.  

Bruce Barkey

Bruce Barkey

Architect

As a 5th generation Coloradan, Bruce Barkey clearly lives his innate love of place. It also informs his work writ large – unique and dynamic while well founded in its place.

With a broad portfolio and 20 years in the industry, Bruce’s projects fuse innovative problem solving with a genuine interest in his client’s needs, aesthetics and aspirations. He brings an analytical, pragmatic and price conscious approach to projects that nets creative, expressive spaces and places under budget.

While engaged in design and development, Bruce prioritizes a collaborative environment and has a keen understanding that a collegial team is essential to a successful project. He’s learned to play well with a diverse list of team members – from building officials to color consultants.

Bruce has an M.Arch from UC-Denver, and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Colorado State University (Go Rams).

 

Melissa Kaefer

Melissa Kaefer

Designer

Melissa earned her Associate degrees in both Architecture and Engineering and brings over 12 years of experience to Hover’s growing team. Her extensive knowledge of pre-engineered metal building systems, mechanical design and architectural panel systems has proven to be invaluable in the development of ongoing projects. Analytical problem-solving skills and strong communication skills have positioned her as a critical asset on our production team!

Melissa grew up in California and North Carolina where her interest in architecture started in a drafting class in high school. She was 1 out of 10 people accepted statewide for the A.C.A.T.S program in 2006. She is passionate about architectural design, millwork design and metal fabrication.

When she’s not designing, Melissa enjoys fishing, her dogs and cat and doing just about anything outside in beautiful Colorado.

Christian Tidwell

Christian Tidwell

Designer

Christian earned his B.S. in Architecture from Arizona State University. He has experience in a variety of construction projects ranging from 600,000 SF mixed use complexes in urban Washington to custom residential projects in the Sonoran Desert and utilitarian chicken coops in rural Africa. Christian brings experience in designing responsible and sustainable buildings that relate to the existing environment. His unique perspective of project development enhances the overall design and the ultimate success of our clients.

Outside of the office, Christian is the doting father of a baby girl, a hobbyist vegetable gardener and a volunteer genealogical consultant.

Daniel Willson

Daniel Willson

Designer

Daniel hails from South Louisiana, where he obtained degrees in Fine Art and Interior Design from LSU. He has experience in BIM Management, conceptual design, rendering and visualization and art installations. His work in the industry has primarily been in corporate interiors, but he’s also tackled projects ranging from a performing arts theater to an airport sky lounge. Always ready for a challenge, Daniel thrives in collaboration and consistently brings a creative solution to the table. His mix of design and presentation skills now give Hover the ability to express our client’s vision to a much greater degree of detail and realism.

After spending a few years working in Houston, Daniel and his wife relocated to the mountains of Colorado in 2018 to start a new chapter of their lives. Denver is where he plans on putting down roots, but Louisiana will always be home, where he met his wife, made his fondest memories and the only place to find a decent craw fish boil.

David Farnsworth

David Farnsworth

Designer

David is a graduate of Drury University where he received a Masters Degree in Architecture. He brings 6+ years of architectural experience to the team. He has a passion for the built environment and strives to bring creative solutions to a collaborative atmosphere. We’re excited to see David apply his experience, energy and skillset to our production team in order to keep pace with Hover’s continued growth.

David is a recent transplant to Colorado from his home state of Missouri. In his personal time, he enjoys spending time outside, camping, biking and hiking. He also enjoys volunteering at local non-profits such as Habitat for Humanity. David is also pursuing his Private Pilot Certificate with hopes of flying to remote regions of the Rocky Mountains and further exploring the beauty of Colorado.

Caley Hayes

Caley Hayes

Office Manager

Caley is joining Hover as the new Office Manager, bringing a wide range of skills to the team including accounting, invoicing, human resources, scheduling, coordination and organization. She has a Bachelors degree in Business Management. She’s passionate about creating systems and policies to increase efficiencies throughout the firm. Combined with her background in the construction industry, she’s able to manage the office while providing support to both our staff and clients in a way that we’ve never been able to before.

Caley has lived in Colorado her whole life and loves camping, hiking, hunting and backpacking in the Rocky Mountains with her husband. When she’s not outside, you can find her working out or trying out new recipes in the kitchen!

Alex Walz

Intern

Alex is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Colorado Denver and plans to graduate with a B.S. of Architecture in the Spring of 2020. While still pursuing his degree, he’s managed to log more than 6 years of experience in 3D modeling and presentation work for architectural firms. Hover is thrilled to have his skillset and energy on our team as we provide ongioing education and support for his career in the field of architecture.
