Troy Kirschman, NCARB, AIA

Troy Kirschman, NCARB, AIA

Owner/Architect

A graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Troy brings over 25 years of architectural experience to the architectural and development industries. His knowledge of site development and building design have proven invaluable in helping clients realize their vision, work through the local municipal approval process and develop documentation and support necessary for construction.

Troy has a passion for architecture and the built environment. Your vision becomes his vision. With his strong leadership skills and a proven track record, he and his team will make every effort to make your next project successful.

Phil Walz, AIA, NCARB

Phil Walz, AIA, NCARB

Project Manager

Philip Walz  joined Hover Architecture in 2017. He started his career as a graduate of Texas A&M University and gained his first architectural license in 2002. With NCARB certification, he is currently licensed in a number of states, and has completed projects in many more states. He has worked on projects ranging from multi-million dollar airports, K-12 schools, government projects, office buildings, industrial complexes, to a variety of commercial and residential projects. He is a technical architect and is happy digging into the details and the individual specifics of projects.

He has lived in Colorado since 2007 with his wife, 4 sons and a small pack of animals. He spends much of his time leading Boy Scouts on many Colorado Adventures, loves cooking indoors and out and tackling DIY projects.  

Mark Brazee

Mark Brazee

Project Architect

Mark joined Hover Architecture in 2021. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon and obtained his architectural license in 2010. He is a LEED professional, experienced in developing sustainable projects and is active with the USGBC. He’s also an Accredited Learning Environment Planner (ALEP). His previous experience includes hotels, government, schools and office buildings. Hover looks to leverage Mark’s broad technical and management experience in successfully completing future projects.

Mark has lived in Colorado since 1994 with his wife, two children and two cats. He enjoys spending time with his family and riding the roads and paths of Colorado on his bike.

 

Christian Tidwell

Christian Tidwell

Designer II

Christian earned his B.S. in Architecture from Arizona State University. He has experience in a variety of construction projects ranging from 600,000 SF mixed use complexes in urban Washington to custom residential projects in the Sonoran Desert and utilitarian chicken coops in rural Africa. Christian brings experience in designing responsible and sustainable buildings that relate to the existing environment. His unique perspective of project development enhances the overall design and the ultimate success of our clients.

Outside of the office, Christian is the doting father of a baby girl, a hobbyist vegetable gardener and a volunteer genealogical consultant.

Stephanie Short

Stephanie Short

Designer III

Stephanie attended the University of Colorado at Boulder where she earned her B.S. in Environmental Design. She brings over 9 years of aviation and transportation infrastructure experience to Hover. As our newest designer, she adds her creativity, attention to detail, and project management to our team. While her client collaboration skills enable her to capture their vision and bring it to life, her production and management skills bring Hover to the forefront of our industry.

A Coloradoan since the age of two, Stephanie loves spending time outdoors, mainly in the mountains, whether it be snowboarding, camping or hiking with her husband, son and two dogs. She also enjoys reading, watching anime, crafting and dancing when not designing.

David Farnsworth

David Farnsworth

Designer II

David is a graduate of Drury University where he received a Masters Degree in Architecture. He brings 6+ years of architectural experience to the team. He has a passion for the built environment and strives to bring creative solutions to a collaborative atmosphere. We’re excited to see David apply his experience, energy and skillset to our production team in order to keep pace with Hover’s continued growth.

David is a recent transplant to Colorado from his home state of Missouri. In his personal time, he enjoys spending time outside, camping, biking and hiking. He also enjoys volunteering at local non-profits such as Habitat for Humanity. David is also pursuing his Private Pilot Certificate with hopes of flying to remote regions of the Rocky Mountains and further exploring the beauty of Colorado.

Changju Lee

Designer II

Originally from South Korea, Changju earned his B.S. in Interior Design from San Fransisco State University and brings 8 years of design experience to the Hover team. He has developed designs for a variety of commercial projects and specialized in designs for elevator systems, loading docks, pneumatic tubes for hospitals, industrial kitchens and cruise ships. He thrives in a collaborative environment where he can apply his technical experience and systems management to each of our projects.

When he’s not working, Changju enjoys board games, traveling, working out, hiking, camping, skiing and spending time with his energetic pup Mino.

Melissa Kaefer

Melissa Kaefer

BIM/Concept Specialist

Melissa earned her Associate degrees in both Architecture and Engineering and brings over 12 years of experience to Hover’s growing team. Her experience in analytical problem-solving, Building Information Modeling, standards development and strong communication skills help drive our BIM Standards to the next level. As our Conceptual Design Specialist, she works with new and potential clients to visualize the
opportunities for site development.

Melissa grew up in California and North Carolina where her interest in architecture started in a drafting class in high school. She was 1 out of 10 people accepted statewide for the A.C.A.T.S program in 2006. She is passionate about architectural design, millwork design and metal fabrication.

When she’s not designing, Melissa enjoys fishing, her dogs and cat and doing just about anything outside in beautiful Colorado.

Caley Hayes

Caley Hayes

Office Manager

Caley is Hover’s Office Manager, bringing a wide range of skills to the team including accounting, invoicing, human resources, scheduling, coordination and organization. She has a Bachelors degree in Business Management. She’s passionate about creating systems and policies to increase efficiencies throughout the firm. Combined with her background in the construction industry, she’s able to manage the office while providing support to both our staff and clients in a way that we’ve never been able to before.

Caley has lived in Colorado her whole life and loves camping, hiking, hunting and backpacking in the Rocky Mountains with her husband. When she’s not outside, you can find her working out or trying out new recipes in the kitchen!

Aubrey Romberger

Aubrey Romberger

Project Facilitator

Aubrey earned her B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Biola University. She is
passionate about helping people communicate more efficiently. She brings a wide variety of experience in customer service, scheduling, and management to Hover. As Project Facilitator, she provides project support through organization, critical data and deadline management and design team communication. Her strong relationship-building skills have proven effictive at assembling project applications and seeing them through city approvals.

Aubrey has lived in Colorado for over half of her life with some time in California. Her family is spread throughout the US and she loves spending time with them whenever possible. She loves being outside with her dog Briscoe or just spending time with the amazing people in her life.

Alex Walz

Intern

Alex is currently a post-graduate student at the University of Colorado Denver with a graduate degree in Architecture. While still pursuing his degree, he’s managed to log more than 7 years of experience in 3D modeling and presentation work for architectural firms. Hover is thrilled to have his skillset and energy on our team as we provide ongioing education and support for his career in the field of architecture.
